To start this morning I was 33.4 miles from Trinidad and 1114.24 miles from New Orleans

Goal achieved -  10000 steps today for 5 miles!!  Lots and lots of walking and getting the offices set up at work before classes start.  5 miles worth!!

That puts me at 28.4 miles from Trinidad and 1109 miles away from New Orleans!!

Look at that beautiful zero!!! I am that much closer to making that 109 disappear, and then when that turns over the 1109 will become a 3 digit number - every step brings me closer to my goal!

On Monday I walked 3000 steps for 1.1 miles and today I walked 3 miles for a total of 4.1 miles

Now I am 33.4 miles from Trinidad and 1114.24 miles from New Orleans

I am super excited to see that countdown right now!!  Watching the 14 turn to 0 and then the 100 turn to zero and the numbers switch over to 900's - it feels like a real accomplishment!!  I work tomorrow - so the goal is another 10000 steps - I got really close today <3 p="">

Oh dear...  Is it really August already?

On june 22 I was:  4.2 miles to Pueblo and 1171.34 miles to New Orleans

Now - over a month later... *sheepish grin*  I only have bits of data to report

I know the Ren Faire 3 times yielded 18 miles, Elitches another 3 miles for 21.  I know that getting set up for school I did 5000 steps walking between classes and building 3 times to get everything set up - that's another 7.5 miles for 28.5  Lets say with the weekends included I walked 2500 steps on the weekedays and 5000 steps on the weekends so 7500 steps a week - for 5 weeks that's 22500 for 12 miles - that makes 30.5 miles.  This week with my new job I have increased everything by alot.  Monday and tuesday each I walked 10000 steps - for 10 miles - wednesday I walked all over town and went to a concert at redrocks for an additional  8000 steps - so 15 miles including todays steps - so 45.5 miles in the last over a month.  That means I sky rocked past Pueblo and need to plot my course.

I am now 1125.84 miles away from New Orleans!!!  Lets see where I am on the map!

I am 5 miles outside of Farista Colorado - a tiny town with an A&W - I am going to get a root beer float when I get there!!  

I have 45 miles to Trinidad and 1125.84 miles to New Orleans!!

 I was at 1190.34 to New Orleans and 23.2 miles to Pueblo when I got my new phone.  With the step tracker I have done a little over 10000 steps (yay) although it is over several days.. so not so yay - but still walking and recording.

With just over 10000 steps - which is 5 miles I am at:  18.2 miles to Pueblo and 1185.34 miles to New Orleans.

 I was at 1212.04 miles to New Orleands and 13.6 miles to Fountain

Saturday I walked 10000 steps - 5 miles, on Monday I walked another 10000 steps - 5 miles.  On Sunday I barely walked 2340 steps, and on Tuesday I walked the dog with my boyfriend and made it up to 5000 steps - 2.5 miles  Wednesday I made it to 2500 steps and today I made it to 2700 steps - I will count it as an even 15 miles for simplicity.

That means I am now 1,197.04 miles away from New Orleans and I zoomed past Fountain...  Whoooosh!  :D  It is 31.3 miles to fountain and I have already walked 1.4 miles of that which means I have 29.9 miles to Pueblo to walk.  I can so do this!!  :D

Last time I posted i was at 1214.84 miles to New Orleans and 16.4 miles to Fountain

Saturday I did 2000 steps Sunday I did 1870 steps today I am at 1730 steps for a total 5600 steps - that's 2.8 miles

So Now I am at 1212.04 miles to New Orleands and 13.6 miles to Fountain - creeping closer - rain is delaying my march as is a bad case of the blues that would be much remedied if I did ALOT more walking *rolls eyes*  the cure is the cure!!

I was at 1258.54 miles to New Orleans and 5.5 miles to Larkspur for the Renaissance Festival when I last wrote.  It has been awhile.

I have walked 43.7 miles since that time - which was two months almost to the day.  I was so excited about blogging and posting and then life happened and I lost my gusto.  Now I am back because I REALLY want to go to New Orleans, and I really want to walk there before I plan my actual trip :D

So my count with the 43.7 miles is 1214.84 miles to New Orleans - now lets find out where I actually ended up - because I blew past the ren fair by 38.2 miles!!

With the 38.2 Miles I made it to Manitou Springs - which was my next destination, and then back tracked to Old Colorado City - which is currently where I am at now on the map!!  My next Destination is Fountain Colorado where my cousins live which is 16 miles from Old Colorado City - after that I will head towards Pueblo!!  Pueblo is 45.4 miles from where I currently stand!

In the two months since I stopped walking as much and lost my focus I gained weight, and found myself in and out of depression.  This is not at all where I wanted to be - but admitting the truth is a good thing.  So Here I stand - in the middle of Spring ready to give it my all!!  My goal weight is 140 - my destination is New Orleans, and this is going to be fun!!

Time to really get this show on the road :D

On Saturday there was a whole host of birthday preperation and walking the dog and just walking to do.  I walked a full 10000 steps - or 5 miles.  Today I stayed at home cleaning - and walked 1 mile - that's a total of 6 miles.  My next goal is Larkspur where they have the Renaissance Festival  - One of my favorite places to dress up and play - the distance is 11.2 miles from Castle Rock

Today I am at 1258.54 miles to New Orleans and 5.5 miles to Larkspur for the Renaissance Festival

That is 46.46 miles walked so far!!

I was not feeling well today - my stomach had me walk many trips to the bathroom - which is how I made my one mile today.  It was beautiful outside, but I did not see one bit of it until it was time to go home.  Some days - are just like that.


Today I am at 1264.54 miles to New Orleans and 0.39 miles to Castle Rock!!!  It was a beautiful day for walking too - fresh air still scented with snow and spring and sunshine :D

That is 40.46 miles walked so far!!

Back to walking on my breaks - not the 10000 steps I want - but it gets me moving - and today in high heels no less!!  I walked 3200 steps today - 1.52 miles :D  It is all about one step at a time, and persistence and perseverance.  I will make this happen and I will make it awesome

Sick nabbed me - but I have been keeping track.  Saturday I walked 5 miles, and then over the last couple days I have walked an additional three miles - the .29 or whatever is being rounded for simplicity right now.  so 8 miles total.

which puts me at 1267.06 miles to New Orleans and 2.91 miles to Castle Rock!!!  So close to my friends in Castle Rock I can see the hill that leads into town!!  SO worth the keeping going!!

Under the weather today - only 1730 steps - I can tell when it is harder to move - it affects me.  so that is .75 of a mile - not exactly what I was hoping for - but it's still moving and groving - just a tad slower :P

So with .75 miles I am at:

1275.06 miles to New Orleans and 10.91 miles to Castle Rock!!!  Slow and steady wins the race - and this Mamma is going to feel alot better tomorrow and get my groove on!

Behind on my posts!!  Yesterday I walked 4250 steps and today I walked 3021 steps.
  So 3.6 miles between the two days.  I am drawing and painting, so my walking suffered - but I have met other goals in the meantime.

Today with 3.6 miles walked I have 1275.81 miles to New Orleans and 11.66 miles to Castle Rock!!!

I need to get back to painting - but I didn't want to miss another day without posting or I will loose my numbers!!  Creeping up on New Orleans - tomorrow will be a MUCH stronger walking day!!  :D

I also did a full 30 minutes of exercise that was dancing and core work - so mix and match - healthy is the goal and I WILL get there!!  :D

Today was a stay at home day.  I was home with Migraines and the kids had a snow day.  Tomorrow it is supposed to be nicer and I am headed into work - so there will be steps taken.  I probably did a quarter mile to half a mile of walking cleaning and walking around the house - but I won't record it.  I will start back up tomorrow.  Giving myself the room to spend the time with the kids and focus on all the other goals in my life as well - helps me feel alot more successful.  I can hyper focus on a single task, but then things get put aside.  I will make it to New Orleans - and I will raise happy healthy kids who love to walk with me when the weather isn't 12 degrees and snowing blizzard style!!  We should have stopped for 30 minutes and stretched and did some push ups and sit ups...  next time that will be on the agenda for certain!  We still have to move = even when we are home bound!!

Monday and Tuesday my youngest was sick = I played nursemaid and didn't record my steps.  Today I rushed everyone out the door, to school, got my son to his dads, and went to work - still sick but feeling better.  Doctors visits and a three hour drive home - I forgot to record my steps again.  So the last three days are a wash.

For this adventure I am counting them as a restful needed pause in the walking to New Orleans - life has pauses - it has interrupts - and when they are over - we keep going.  The world is coated in ice and snow - and tomorrow may be a snow day for the kiddos - I am not worried about this week being a wash - because my goal is to get there - it's not on a time frame.  Why is this important - because if I am grueling on myself when life has it's hiccups I will loose my motivation.  it takes focus to stay motivated - and the best way is to keep it fun.

I have not lost my motivation to get to New Orleans - I am super excited about it actually and am fully vested in this journey!!  I have my goal - I have a plan, I have mini goals to stay excited.  That is part of what this is about.  Loosing weight, getting healthier - also on the game plan.  One step at a time - and for this moment in time - my next step will get myself to bed.  My body is telling me to take care of it with sleep in appropriate hours!!

My diet has improved, my focus and mental awareness has changed and I am far more content than I was.  All good things.  I am looking forward to another 10,000 step day, and another and lots more!!!  Sweet dreams - tomorrow my snow boots are getting a work out!!

The wind and the snow blows outside in a gale of frozen gusts and swirls.  As a result - we did not do alot of walking.  2542 steps today -  1.25 miles.  Seems so small compared to yesterday - but there are at least steps - and I went to the dojo - which is another type of exercise all together :D

Today with 1.25 miles walked I have 1279.41 miles to New Orleans and 15.26 miles to Castle Rock!!!

Each step I take brings me closer - a mountain is worn down by wind and rain and sun over time to reveal the layers underneath that time forgot.  So to am I reaching my goal, and wearing down the weight I have gained, and gaining muscle I lost over the last few months.  Each step and movement is to my benefit to live a healthier longer life.  A dedication worth making a priority!!

For the first time since I started my journey I walked a full 10231 steps - a full 5 miles in one day!!  I can feel it in my knees and in my body - but it feels good.  A first - the first of many.  I know what it takes to walk the full 5 miles now - and the dedication I will have to put forth and the focus to achieve that every day.  Luckily I am up for the challenge.  Especially if it gets me to New Orleans :D

Today with 5 miles walked I have 1280.66 miles to New Orleans and 16.51 miles to Castle Rock!!!

I was 175 pounds the last time I weighed in at the doctors - I hope to get back down to 145 - what I weighed before I quit my job at King Soopers as a florist in 2013.  I have some work to do - and some healing to do.  I will make it - I am determined.

I have a whole host of other goals as well including doing Tai Chi every day and Qi Gong - getting back to my martial art of Nimpo and Bekinjitsu - the art of the sword.  I want to learn the martial art of fan dancing as well. One step - literally - at a time.  I made it to 10,000 steps - I will make it to New Orleans - and I will achieve these goals too.

I didn't walk as much as I would have hoped - high heels were hurting my knees, and I can feel the storm coming this weekend.  It is so weird = that used to exhilarate me - not slow me down.  A sign I need to get more in shape and Tai Chi will become part of my daily tasks.  Off to bed for me - it has been a long day

I missed my blogging for the day yesterday due to some good ole D&D role playing  - so here are the stats from yesterday:

I walked 3329 steps yesterday which is 1.63 miles

at that point I had 1289.22 miles to New Orleans and 25.07 miles to Castle Rock

Today I walked 4143 steps which is 2.06 miles 

Today I have 1287.16 miles to New Orleans and 23.01 miles to Castle Rock

I am witting it away - not in great swaths - but in small doable pieces that - although it will take me longer - will get me there!!  Oh the lessons this bringing about - every small step counts - every focus to a goal is done in smaller steps and pieces that lead to a greater more amazing goal!  I find that I am starting to apply these concepts to all kinds of things in my life and the procrastination is becoming less and less appealing!!  It is late though - so I must say adue - tomorrow - I hope to make 5000 steps!!  :D

Alright - so - yesterday I walked enough to make to Stranahans - now I need to actually go there for a tour and a taste, and a second tour.. and a 3rd fourth and 15th tasting  nomnomnom!!!

Today it snowed - alot - I only made it to 2065 steps - which is one Mile - I gazed at the beautiful snow falling and the path around the lake and decided that with all the colds going around I will walk when it's a little less cold and damp.  But I have to step it up - walking one mile at a time per day - is not going to get me there very fast!!

I have 1290.85 miles left to New Orleans  and 26.7 miles to Castle Rock

So the written part of my journey begins - the lifestyle changes it's creating and the actual "journey" that is taking place.  I have gained 35 pounds since i started my new job a year and a half ago - I weigh more now than I did when I left my husband.  I have a supportive boyfriend that has loved me the entire time and regardless of weight see's an amazing and beautiful woman.  I am blessed beyond words!  That being said - I also don't like being 175 pounds - the weight is hard on my knees, lungs organs and life.  I am out of shape and becoming less and less limber.  This will not do - so I am making changes to my life.  Habit.RPG.com was the beginning of that change - and is still a daily tool I am using and have been for a couple weeks.  When i started seeing the changes there - I started sharing my new found game and talking about it.  A friend told me about the walking challenge - I grabbed it like water in the desert!!  what fun!!

So here I am - walking the miles it takes to go to New Orleans.  It hasn't been in huge leaps, or over extended hikes - it is in small steps recorded on my 3DS around my work and on trails I find and talking with friends and my children.  Right now it is small steps - but those small steps are leading to longer walks!!  The Aquarium was my first goal - I made it there!!  I walked 10.1 miles!!  it fueled me - and realizing that I had already walked to my second goal that night when I posted was so very exciting!!

Now I walk to Castle Rock - where I lived for 6 years - where I have friends and an art guild that I miss dearly and have not seen since July of 2012.  All these places I have planned on my journey are actual places I want to visit and see and play and talk and enjoy!!  as I get out of my territory it will be post card pictures of places I would like to see and visit - and when I actually do drive down there I will see them and take pictures and celebrate.

Take the time to invest in yourself - it is worth the effort - it is worth the time, and it is worth succeeding!!

Part of my Valentines with my love was to walk - we both need it and want to be more fit - and we came pretty close to the 10,000 steps for the day we were hoping for!!

7862 steps before midnight last night = 3.80 miles

8.25 + 3.80 = 12.5 miles walked so far

I MADE IT TO THE AQUARIUM!!  10.1 was the goal - I walked 12.5 - so not only did I make it - but I passed it!! 

I have 1291.85 miles left to New Orleans and another spot to pick along the way to "visit"

Now to pick a new place!!  In the same location is Elitch Gardens, the Children's Museum and Down Town Denver!!  So all those places are out - because technically I already made it there :D

Castle Rock is my next destination - to visit old friends!!  It is 27.6 miles from the Aquarium - I have already walked part way there for 3.4 miles so I have 24.2 miles to go before I reach my goal :D

Today was another small stepping day - but only because I did not feel well and I was sitting and making valentines type stuff - my total today was 4560 or 2.25 miles

totals for today are

6+2.25 = 8.25 miles walked so far

I now have 1.15 miles to go to the Aquarium and a total of 1,295.65 miles to New Orleans

Slow progress - but progress none the less - only a mile to go before I am to the Aquarium and off to my new chosen goal along the way!!  This is like filling a jug with pebbles - they are small - but over time the jug fills and overflows!!  

I am super tired tonight - long day of creating and not feeling quite up to par - sweet dreams

Today was not as successful - but still got some of my walking in - I did 4202 steps or 2 miles of walking today.  I am keeping track with a 3DS - which is doubly fun because you earn game coins you can use later with Mii's :D

With my two miles today the numbers are now:

4.1 + 2 = 6 miles walked so far

I now have 3.4 miles to go to the Aquarium and a total of 1,297.9 miles to New Orleans

There is so much motivation now that I can play with numbers and see them change.  It is strange what data can do to motivation - graphs and charts and tangible details.  I can also feel my motivation for other things returning, and my depression is lessening - something I have needed for awhile.   I can feel my muscles rebelling - I can feel my body telling me I need to take it slow and that the building will come with time - and consistency.  I am listening.

Very tired tonight - turning in early so I can get a better start in the morning.

Day two of my adventure to New Orleans - turns out it is walking Wednesday at work *yay double points to awesome day!!*

So steps break down happened - I wanted to know exactly how to break down what I walked since it is an ever changing number - much like life.  Putting the break down here to use later

10,000 steps = 5 miles
2000 steps = 1 mile
1000 steps = 1/2 mile
500 steps = 1/4 mile
250 steps = 1/8 mile
125 steps = 1/16 mile
75 steps = 1/32 mile

I walked 6853 steps today with the walk added in (that only took 30 minutes i might add and is easily added into my day since it is literally around the buildings I work in)

which equates to 3.4 miles

1.7 + 3.4 = 4.1 miles walked so far

After yesterday my numbers were  9.1 miles to my first goal marker 
1,304.1 miles to go

I now have 5.4 miles to go to the Aquarium and a total of 1,300.9 miles to New Orleans

Today was excellent - I doubled my steps and doubled my mileage - still not the 10000 steps I want - but pretty darn close.  I am starting to see what the time obligation is and how to work it into my daily routine a bit better.  I was intimidated before - I will admit it - with all the things going on in my life 10000 steps seemed like alot - but it really isn't.  The benefits are HUGE - and I am already seeing the thank you effects from my body.  i want more water and less sugar, I have more energy, and I am happier.  

I need to get a physical US map so I can mark my progress and put flags on my goal sites - something physical to play with and create excitement. 

Goal learn about my health achieved, secret power of seeing how I can add walking into my day achieved, visible progress achieved.  2nd day of starting a new habit unlocked - and blog updated for records achieved.  A beautiful day!!  

In addition to my walk there is a gal at work that was in a bad accident many years ago - and almost lost her foot - today - for the first time in 13 years - she walked the entire distance.  Talk about inspirations to make my heart sing and encourage her to keep going.  I will tell her my goal tomorrow - and let her know how much her story impacted my own journey.  She WAS my amazing story for today - and a beautiful one!

In my imaginary yet actual walking for fitness journey to New Orleans - I have 1,305 miles to walk. I will break it down in smaller steps. My first goal is to the Denver Aquarium - which is 10.8 miles from me.

Today I walked 3696 steps so far today - my goal is to get up to 10,000 steps a day - which equates to 5 miles - I made about 1.7 miles today - a good first step - but not where I want to be and it is too late tonight to add more steps into my day.

1,304.1 miles to go

Other achievements - created a blog - mapped out the miles to New Orleans, and shared idea with others.  Celebrated with Dee that she shared the idea with me and others are now taking the idea and running with it!!  My boyfriend is going to walk to Mordor with his daughter - an amazing idea!!  

For the first leg of my journey it is the week before Valentines and I have so much to do to prepare - and I am not even close to being prepare - so walking is being replaced by doing - but I want to make sure that I am making a concerted effort so I have a solid start to do my trip.  I am beyond excited about actually GOING to New Orleans - that is the endgame for this particular leg of the journey - no time frame as of yet  - but I would love to visit all the places I find that I want to make as goals along the way.  

My first trip to the Aquarium I will actually go and enjoy and take pictures and post them here when my walking actually gets me there - and then I will set another goal and do the same - Ren Faire, Manitou Springs and Pueblo are on my list of stops and I would actually like to visit them when I achieve those distances and post pictures - I might visit as I have money - but I will post pictures.  Then I will map it out and see what places I would like to visit on the way and when I go down to New Orleans actually VISIT those places and take pictures and post them.  This is a journey - something exciting to motivate me and to make it exciting to really actually do - plus loose weight and make it amazing.

I am excited that Dee and Jason are doing this as well - it helps to have work out buddies <3 span="">
